In every instance of a character ascending to godhood, though, we’ve seen their injuries be entirely healed up (e.g: Vriska gets her arm and eyes back, John doesn’t have a gigantic stab wound)! What gives?

I think we’ve seen this answered indirectly. Terezi’s dream self was blind because her self image was as someone who was blind. Caliborn likes that he’s missing a leg, possibly because it’s visible proof of his triumph over his sister.

To be honest, I find this formulation kind of annoying. Yeah, Homestuck would be the 7th longest book. What would Harry Potter be if it was published as one giant book? Do you really think Homestuck would be one giant book? Of course not. It’s an unfair comparison.

Granted, it’s still cool to remember that Homestuck is FUCKING LONG.
